September 5, 2011 — The lack of ham radio

Hi all,
I recently wrote on my personal blog that I would be moving into the dorm on LSU’s campus. Well I did that, and now I have no ham radio save the handy talky that I brought with me. I wanted to set my ham radio’s up in the ham station over in the physics building, but I haven’t had the chance to do that, nor is it yet known if they will fit there. Anyway, I just figured that I’d let everyone know why I haven’t been on the radio and posting much lately.
Enjoy,
-Michael.

June 14, 2011 — not much, but a new website

Hi all,
I haven’t been very active on the ham radio recently (unfortunately), but I have checked into the local nets every now and again. The main purpose of this post is to tell everyone that I have a new website up, it is beginnerhamradio.com, check it out!
-Michael.

November 24, 2010 — more ham radio!

Hi all readers,
I did quite a bit more on the ham radio than yesterday. I had a few conversations on the 2 meter band; I took part in a few (mostly failed) CW conversations on hf; and I even participated in one of my favorite nets — the 3905 century club net! For those of you who don’t know what this net is, it is a net where the point is to make contacts with other operators and exchange call signs and rst’s, and then send out qsl cards. The point of this is to try to get as many awards as possible. There is an award for worked all states, and even one for worked all state capitals (boy, does that make me valuable since I’m in Baton Rouge!)
Anyway, figured I’d just write to update you on what’s been going on.
-Michael, AI5HF.

November 23, 2010 — nice qso

Hi all readers,
Not too much happened yesterday, but I seem to be getting my act together :) . I had one QSO yesterday, between me (AI5HF), Dana (AD5VC), and someone named Don who I can’t remember his call sign.
Thanks for reading,

November 21, 2010 — net, but not much else

Hi all,
I didn’t do much on the ham radio today (sigh, when will i get my act together?), but I did participate in the BRARC club net, that was nice, got to hear lots of people I haven’t talked to in a while.
Thanks all for reading,

Ham radio life for November 20, 2010 — not much happened

Hi all,
Just decided to jump on here today and write a quick post about my ham radio experiences for today. Well, I must say that today was very boring. I had absolutely nothing happen in the way of ham radio; I just hung out on the computer more than that today. Speaking of nothing happening, the local repeater I hang out on has been rather quiet, I wonder why that is — oh wait, my volume is all the way down again! Drats…
Have a nice weekend!
-Michael, AI5HF.
